Oral Roberts University (ORU) is a charismatic university, founded in the fires of evangelism and upon the unchanging precepts of the Bible. The university was founded as a result of the evangelist Oral Roberts obeying God’s mandate to build a university on God’s authority and the Holy Spirit. God’s commission to Oral Roberts was to:
Raise up your students to hear My voice, to go where My light is dim, where My voice is heard small, and My healing power is not known, even to the uttermost bounds of the earth. Their work will exceed yours, and in this I am well pleased.
ORU fulfills this mandate by building and equipping Holy Spirit-empowered leaders through whole person education to impact the world with God’s healing. Founded to educate the whole person – spirit, mind and body – Oral Roberts University promises a thorough education in the context of a vibrant Christ-centered campus community. A comprehensive university dedicated to student outcomes, ORU offers more than 76 undergraduate majors, as well as 12 master’s-level programs and two doctoral degrees. Faculty members educated at the nation’s top graduate schools serve as academic, professional and spiritual mentors to students.
Oral Roberts University continues to redefine what it means to be a leading Christian university by embracing a globalized format at home and abroad. Their Tulsa campus is home to students from all 50 U.S. states and 89 international countries. ORU and its students also deliver the Whole Person distinctive to all inhabited regions through distance learning, study abroad, educational partnerships, missions and outreach work, all anchored in a Christian worldview.
The university’s motto is to “Make No Little Plans Here,” and for over 50 years, ORU has been a place for advancing knowledge, pursuing intellectual discovery and building life-long friendships. Students are empowered on their quest for wholeness, while preparing for their life’s mission. ORU students and graduates go “to the uttermost bounds of the earth” sharing God’s love and healing power, and we are so pleased to welcome this special group of people to the M3 Conference each year. Pictured above is one such group of students, who recently shared the hope of Christ with the people of Zambia.
We celebrate the work that ORU and their students and alumni are doing around the globe. Click here for more information about Oral Roberts University.
Blessings International’s mission is to heal the hurting, build healthy communities and transform lives. Founded in 1981, the ministry was originally created to serve as a source for donated and low-cost pharmaceuticals to mission trips. Today, Blessings International provides pharmaceuticals, vitamins and medical supplies for medical mission teams, clinics and hospitals in developing countries, and to some in the United States. Blessings International has expanded its territory to work with churches, non-governmental organizations, universities and medical institutions.
M3 was honored to partner with Blessings International in making the 2017 M3 Conference such a success. Click here to learn more about the great work of Blessings International.
We know the parable, it is far better to equip someone to help themselves than to do it for them. We also know from our experience that to have any hope of achieving sustainability, mission hospitals will be forced to move to the next level.
In this session at the 2017 M3 Conference, Andrew Mayo, President and CEO of Medical Benevolence Foundation, will discuss clinical standards, improved systems strengthening, and educational training, which are essential elements for achieving the next level of patient care.
