Testimonies from the M3 Conference

“The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.”

~Frederick Buechner

Dr. Paul Osteen shares about his experience from a two month mission trip to Iraq. He and other M3 Conference attendees recently returned home from Mosul, Iraq, where they volunteered at a Samaritan’s Purse field hospital performing surgery and giving medical care to victims of war. Although there was tragedy and loss of life, there were also signs of hope. He reminded us that we can all be the hands and feet of Jesus, and that we don’t overcome evil with evil, but we overcome evil with good! (Romans 12:21)

Benjamin Smith
Oral Roberts University
Junior, Biology Pre-med major

“I attended the M3 conference because of my desire to do medical missions. While at the conference, God solidified the passion and call in my life to go into every person’s world using medicine. By connecting with professionals and other veterans in the field of medicine, I gained greater insight about the reality of what this calling would entail, specifically how to balance a family while being a full time missionary. Hearing from Paul Osteen, Bob Goff, and Russ White, I attained valuable perspective about the life of a medical missionary. I look forward to attending the conference again in the years to come.”

“What a gift the M3 Conference is to bring together medical missionaries and organizations focused on how we can show the love of Christ to the most vulnerable. When the body of Christ comes together with such focus, prayer, and willingness to use our God-given capabilities, we know He will use it to shine His light into communities with the deepest need for healthcare and for true living water.”

~Amy Delgado,
Director of Outreach Ministries,
Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church

“The M3 Conference is one of the most effective mobilizing tools for engaging our medical professionals at our church.  After attending M3, several doctors who previously declined invitations to get involved with medical missions, connected with representatives of medical sending agencies at the conference and have since volunteered their time serving in places like Kenya and Malawi.  I've also learned so much about the work being done right here in our city through presentations at M3.   I encourage both medical professionals and any interested in missions to attend the M3 Conference.  It's an amazing time of worship and spiritual refreshment, fellowship and of course, learning.”

~ Mary-Floye
Federer Director of Ministry Partnerships and Engagement, Equipping and Sending Ministry,
First Presbyterian Church, Houston

“Deciding to partner with Lakewood Church and the M3 Conference awoke many of our medical practitioners to not only the needs of the world but the many opportunities to serve. Through M3, we connected CASA, our free medical clinic, to a new audience resulting in several new volunteers. Partnering with the M3 Conference was and is one of the best decisions I’ve made.”

~ Chuck Oak,
Missions Pastor,
West University Baptist/Crosspoint Church

“The M3 Conference has opened my eyes to a better world; to a world of healers, justice seekers and the people of God and what they are actually doing, as so many of the faith based organizations are doing. I have been totally inspired as well as my faith in humanity been lifted high. The stories from the speakers at the M3 Conference have inspired me to seek “my” way to be the hands and feet of Jesus on a daily basis.”

– Rebecca Perez

“Going to the M3 conference gave me hope… I seemed to be surrounded by nurses, doctors and people who could not wait to serve!! They were fueled by passion and that passion was almost tangible everywhere I went during the conference and with each person I spoke to. It was exhilarating and inspiring! If you’ve ever wondered “Can it really be done?”  If you’ve ever thought “But there’s so much need and so much to do!”  Hear what the people who come to the M3 conference have to say about that. Share YOUR stories of hope and love and passion for the work you do with the people you will meet there. It’s an atmosphere of hope in the future, and new ideas are exchanged with virtually every single person you encounter. You’ll be both grounded and forever changed.”

– Amy Herman, RN
