Woodlands Church: Serve to No End

Woodlands Church has a history of missions and will be joining us as a sponsor for the 2017 M3 Conference.

Returning this year as a sponsor to the M3 Conference is Woodlands Church, led by Pastor Kerry and Chris Shook. Pastor Kerry and his wife founded the church with the vision to “eliminate the barriers of boredom, unfriendliness and fear that keeps people from experiencing a relationship with Jesus Christ.” To them, people are of the utmost importance in the Kingdom, so it’s no coincidence that their church would be sponsoring the M3 Conference for the second year in a row.

Chris serves as the Director of Missions and Women’s Ministry at the church, having experience in missions work with under-resourced people both locally and in numerous countries around the world.

Woodlands Church is engaged in ongoing efforts to impact communities in Houston, TX in tangible, sustainable ways. They creatively use every means available to create relationships in order to impact the community in a necessary way and to share the hope of Christ.

Globally, Woodlands Church partners with indigenous leaders to complete projects and mobilize men and women from all walks of life to create sustainable change. The church sends missionaries to Haiti, Honduras, India, Kenya, Dominican Republic, and Sweden to share Christ by being his representatives in those countries.

This year at M3, Woodlands Church will bring back the WC Trading Company, a shop filled with handmade gifts, jewelry, home decor, art, textiles and personal accessories representing the diverse cultures of artisans in Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and many more. With every purchase made, financial margin is created in each participating family, providing consistent nutritious diet, which supports better health, funds to send children to school and expansion of micro businesses. The church makes sure to work with local churches to create lasting relationships that fuel lasting change in the lives of the people in those regions.

2016 Organization of the Year: Kibuye Hope Hospital

“Kibuye Hospital deepens healing because its doctors also study the Great Physician.”

For the 2016 M3 Conference, we donated a portion of every registration to Kibuye Hope Hospital in Burundi, where doctors navigated navigate shortages in electricity, water, sanitation, equipment, workers, beds, and medicines, and figured out a way to supply the community in that region with healthcare.

Recently, one of the doctors at Kibuye received an outstanding award of $500,000 in the first annual Gerson L’Chaim Prize for Outstanding Christian Medical Missionary Service to help he and his colleagues continue their work at the hospital. Read more about Dr. Fader, his award, the hospital, and others like him here.
