2024 M3 Pre-Conference Workshop

Add a Pre-Conference Workshop session to your M3 Conference experience!

Back by popular demand!  We will once again offer a Pre-Conference Workshop that you can add to your main conference registration.  This workshop is optional and an additional fee applies. The workshop will take place before the main conference begins.  Please see below for more information.

Cost:
» $80 without CME*; $120 with CME**
» Fee includes workshop admission, CME (if applicable), self-parking voucher, and a Chick-fil-A box lunch.

*NOTE: Students and active missionaries are eligible to apply for a partial scholarship that can go toward the main conference registration and the Pre-Conference Workshop without CME. To apply for a scholarship, email info@m3missions.com and request a scholarship application.

**NOTE: All course participants who complete the online course evaluation and credit claims form will receive a certificate of completion that contains the CME statement. This can be submitted to the respective course participants professional organization for continuing education credit.

Space is limited, and registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

Pre-Conference Parking Information:
» Pre-Conference Workshop parking will be located off-site in the Regal Edwards Greenway Cinema parking garage at 3838 Norfolk Street, Houston, Texas, which is a different location than the main conference parking.
» PLEASE NOTE: A printed parking pass is required to park in this garage. The parking pass will be emailed to all Pre-Conference Workshop registrants in advance (about 1 week before the conference begins).

Main Conference Parking Information:
» The main conference parking is located in a different location than the Pre-Conference parking. The main conference parking opens at 6 p.m. on Friday and is open all day on Saturday.

How To Register:
To register for the Pre-Conference Workshop:

  1. Click on the “Register Today” button (available at the top and bottom of this page).
  2. Choose “In-Person Attendee” as the “Registration Type.”
  3. Follow the prompts to register for the main M3 Conference, and then you will have the option to register for the Pre-Conference Workshop as well.

Already registered for the M3 Conference and want to add a Pre-Conference Workshop to your registration? Please follow these steps:

  1. Click here, then scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen and click “Already registered?”
  2. Enter your email address and confirmation number and click “Log in”. (You can find your confirmation number on the email confirmation you should have received when you placed your original order.)
  3. Click the “Modify Registration” button.
  4. Click through each page of your registration until you come to the page where you can add the Pre-Conference Workshop to your registration. Select the Pre-Conference Workshop option of your choice (with or without CME).
  5. Proceed to the last page of the registration and enter your payment information.
  6. Click “Submit” on last page to finalize your changes/additions.

NOTE: The Pre-Conference Workshop is also available to Exhibitors and Sponsors within those registration paths.

Tropical Medicine, Traveler’s Health, and How to Launch a New Healthcare Ministry

Course Description:
The morning sessions will cover “How to Launch a New Healthcare Ministry.” Health is in crisis throughout low-resource communities, compelling leaders to design and lead health systems that are both effective and efficient. These sessions address assessment of needs and resources, planning of appropriate interventions and services, and the logistics of ongoing leadership. Also covered are the subjects of funding, relations with regulators, health professions education opportunities, community buy-in, and integration of faith and healthcare.

The afternoon sessions will cover “Tropical Medicine and Traveler’s Health.” Citizens of tropical settings are at risk for special diseases unfamiliar to healthcare professionals from higher latitudes. These sessions will address the most prevalent tropical diseases (Malaria, TB, HIV), as well as those commonly neglected tropical diseases (schistosomiasis, lymphatic filariasis, onchocerciasis). Also, covered is counseling, vaccination, and chemoprophylaxis for travelers to tropical settings.
