Mary Terry, MSN, RN
Mary Terry is an Adjunct Professor of Nursing at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas where she specializes in teaching clinical skills, maternal health, and fundamentals of nursing care. She also teaches transcultural nursing which involves conducting nursing student study abroad classes to Haiti, Honduras, Dominican Republic, and Peru since 2013.
Mary completed a master’s degree in nursing at University of Texas, El Paso in May 2012. Her first experience in a medical mission was July 2012 when she participated in a 7-day health humanitarian clinical brigade to Honduras. This exposure sparked her passion for global nursing and attention to the vast disparities in resources available in developing countries, as well as social impact, emergency response, community development and much more. Since then, she has gone on to participate and lead as a college instructor and facilitator of healthcare brigades in Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Peru. Since 2014, she has served her community as a sexual assault forensic examiner, collaborating closely with local sexual assault response team members to sustain and promote services to survivors.
Mary is co-founder of M&M Healthcare Consultants, a non-profit organization which brings educators, medical professionals, students, and lay people together in providing collaborative missionary healthcare to marginalized countries without access to basic care.
