M3 Welcomes Dr. Anne Alaniz, Pothawira and Houston Methodist Hospital

M3 is so pleased to welcome Dr. Anne Alaniz to the conference as a speaker. Dr. Alaniz is a Gynecologic Oncologist who has been working for Houston Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas, since 2012. She is also the Co-Founder of Pothawira (Safe Haven) Christian Mission Organization in her home village around Salima, Malawi. Pothawira was founded in 2009 and has been in full operation since 2011. Pothawira has an outpatient clinic that sees over 5000 patients a month and will soon open a birthing center which will provide a safe facility for childbirth with skilled medical personnel to continue to combat the high rates of maternal and neonatal deaths in Malawi. In addition, Pothawira is home to 126 orphaned children with 12 widows who care for them. Pothawira provides a Christian centered education for the children in the orphanage, as well as over 300 children from the surrounding villages who wouldn’t have access to a good education. She truly believes that the future of developing countries, like Malawi, lies in the hands of their people. Developing countries are made up of entrepreneurs, visionaries, and innovative leaders who, if given equity and social justice, have the capacity to be part of developing the economic futures of their country. This is what drives Dr. Alaniz to continue to find ways to empower and provide opportunities for children, women, and men, who like her, if given the opportunity, have the capacity to be part of the change they want to see in Malawi. Come hear Dr. Alaniz tell her story, “What’s in YOUR hands? A Journey Out of the Village” and visit the Pothawira Booth in the Exhibit Hall.Houston MethodistM3 is also grateful to Houston Methodist Hospital for being a 2019 Mobilizing Medical Missions Bronze Sponsor.

M3 Welcomes Exhibitor Project C.U.R.E.

M3 is honored to partner with Project C.U.R.E., the largest provider of donated medical supplies and equipment to developing countries around the world.

Each week, Project C.U.R.E. delivers approximately three semi-truck loads of donated medical supplies and equipment to desperately needy people around the world. Since 1987, Project C.U.R.E. has delivered equipment and supplies to hospitals and clinics in more than 130 countries.
Besides containers, Project C.U.R.E. sends teams of medical professionals to assist partner hospitals and clinics through the C.U.R.E. Clinic program and provides medical supplies to traveling doctors and nurses in the form of C.U.R.E. Kits. Project C.U.R.E. also sends Kits for Kids, backpacks filled with children’s basic medical items, for those with no health access in developing countries.
You don’t want to miss their booth in the Exhibit Hall so make sure to stop by to meet some of the wonderful hearts behind Project C.U.R.E.

M3 Welcomes HandUp Global Goods

This year, M3 is partnering with HandUP Global Goods to bring HUGG Mission Market to the conference. HandUp Global Goods helps young adults transition out of orphanages by empowering them with ethical employment, spiritual development, vocational training, and financial literacy. This equips them to become responsible leaders in their jobs, families, and communities. The HUGG Mission Market carries on-trend home accessories, beauty products, leather goods and jewelry that are handcrafted with love by people who need a handup not a handout.
So, don’t forget to stop by and shop the market at M3 this year to support and mobilize Haitian youth, socially and spiritually. We invite you to take part in fashion that fuels change every time you make a purchase.
