2018 M3 Pre-Conference Workshop #4

Our fourth and final Pre-Conference Workshop is titled “Serving the Great Physician in Disaster Zones”. This workshop will be held on Friday, February 23rd from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. by Elliott Tenpenny, MD, and Kelly Sites, RN.

This workshop is an introduction to Samaritan’s Purse and its Biblical basis for disaster response. It will cover the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) mentality, the sectors they primarily worked in, and focus specifically on the medical response capabilities.

This will include 3 sessions:

Session 1: Overview of Disaster Response

Session 2: Disaster Response Mentality

Session 3: Emergency Medical Response

Our third workshop will be all about “Preparing for a Life in Missions”. This workshop will be held on Friday, February 23rd from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. and will be facilitated by Mitch Duininck, MD, John Cropsey, MD, Andres Morales, RN, BSN, and Katie Morales, RN, BSN.

In this workshop, veteran healthcare missionaries will share their wisdom on how to best prepare for a life in missions. This will include 3 sessions:

Session 1: What Not to Do if You Want to Do Missions

Session 2: Who Me…A Missionary?

Session 3: Transformation through Teaching Teams

2018 M3 Pre-Conference Workshop #2

“Ultrasound for Medical Missions” is the title of our second Pre-Conference Workshop. This workshop will be held on Friday, February 23rd from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. by Sarah Jennings, BS, RDMS, RVT, and Kathy Marquardt, RDMS, RVT.

Ultrasound is an invaluable tool to use for diagnosis and procedural guidance and is often the only imaging modality that can be taken to remote areas.  This 3-hour workshop will teach you the basics of how to use ultrasound in these areas.  You will also gain access to a program that allows you to borrow ultrasounds for your mission trips at no charge to you.

Our first Pre-Conference Workshop is titled “Made for More: Finding Your Place is God’s Global Purpose”. This workshop will be held on Friday, February 23rd from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. by David Jackett, the Texas Regional Director of the Perspectives Study Program.

Get a taste of God’s unchanging global purposes and how you can co-labor with Him as He works to complete all He has planned. Using key ideas from the Perspectives™ course, these sessions will look at how God’s story is unfolding among all peoples. What does it mean to integrate life for Christ’s global purpose as a “world Christian”? Explore practical ways of pursuing God’s purposes, such as going, sending, welcoming, mobilizing, community building, giving, praying, and learning.
