Joy Vonk, MS, PA-C

Joy Vonk is a clinician and Clinical Manager at Casa el Buen Samaritano. Casa, or “home”, is a free charity clinic in southwest Houston providing faith-based healthcare to the low-income and uninsured. Joy received a B.S. degree in both Biological Sciences Nutrition and Animal Sciences before pursuing her M.S. degree through Baylor College of Medicine’s Physician Assistant program. While working for six years in commercialized medicine, she felt drawn towards integrated holistic medical care models. Presently, Joy is fulfilling this call in an urban missions setting where she is able to deliver medical services with spiritual and social counseling to the disadvantaged populations of Houston, provide whole-person health care – body, soul, and spirit. At Casa she cares for patients, manages clinical operations, oversees scheduling, produces analytics, coordinates patient education, and is active in outreach to the community and partnering organizations.
