Alyssa Pfister, MD
Alyssa has been serving as a Med/Peds physician in East Africa for the past 10 years. After 2 years at Tenwek Hospital in Kenya through the World Medical Mission post-residency program, she and her team transitioned to long term work in Burundi with Serge. Alyssa currently serves as Director of Pediatrics at Kibuye Hope Hospital, the primary teaching hospital for Hope Africa University. The Kibuye team has a vision of training and discipling African medical professionals to care for the underserved with compassion and competence. With that goal in mind, Alyssa is pursuing a masters in clinical education in order to strengthen her as an educator for the medical students, hospital staff, and patients in her context.
