THE M3 PROJECT OF THE YEAR

Casa El Buen Samaritano Houston, Texas

Sharing God’s love through whole-person healing

The Vision

Casa El Buen Samaritano’s mission is to Share the love of Jesus Christ while providing whole-person — body, soul, spirit — healthcare to the low-income, uninsured and uninsurable population in the Houston area.

Through our free clinic, we have served the community since 2008, using an integrated medical and spiritual ministry approach. Casa patients come from more than 90 different zip codes in the Greater Houston and surrounding areas, 97% of our patients are Hispanic/Latino; with 73% being women.

During 2018, we had more than 2,700 patients visits, most of which received services within our impact areas: Diabetes, Hyperlipidemia, Hypertension, Preventive Health and Women’s Health.

Sharing the Gospel

Thanks to the support of our Ministry volunteers and Community Health Workers, this past year we were able to provide more than 1,500 spiritual counseling and follow up to our patients and guidance through their decisions of faith.

Outreach

Our commitment to our patients and their families and the commitment of our volunteers and donors has allowed us to support more than 40 families through our outreach. We have been able to support families with school supplies, ESL classes and seasonal events.

Casa’s operation is possible thanks to the dedicated medical and non-medical mission-minded volunteers who offer their time, talent and treasure to serve those in need. During 2018, we had more than 100 volunteers that offered over 4,000 hours to Casa’s mission. There’s still more work to be done as our number of patients continues to increase.
